THE IMAGE OF MODERN RUSSIA AS PERCIEVED BY AMERICANS IN THE XXI CENTURY

Аннотация. Образ современной России глазами американцев формируется на сегодняшний день в основном представлениями и знаниями американцев о советском прошлом нашей страны. В статье проводится анализ части проведенного исследования, который подтверждает устарелость подобного образа и необходимость дальнейшего исследования проблемы.

Summary. The image of the modern Russia as perceived by Americans is being formed today primarily form the ideas and knowledge USA citizens have about the Soviet past of our country. In the paper the re­sults of a part of the conducted research are presented, which prove that such image is by now obsolete, and there is a necessity to further investigate the problem .
